Merrily StricklandMerrily Strickland received her BA from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2004 with concentrations in Studio Art and Art History and a minor in Spanish. She spent two years as gallery assistant at ArtSource Fine Art Gallery & Consultants in Raleigh, where she currently shows and sells her artwork. Primarily a painter, she concentrates on figures and landscapes, specifically scenes from Ireland and Scotland. Merrily has also displayed and sold her work in juried exhibitions at Visual Art Exchange, another Raleigh venue. Her art resides in both residential and corporate collections, including collections in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and Ireland. In 2005, she held solo exhibitions at Jordan Hall Arts Center in Cary, NC; Tir Na Nog Irish Pub in Raleigh; and the Woman’s Club of Raleigh, and she was the Featured Artist at ArtSource in May of 2006. As a vendor at the first annual Gaelic Festival in Raleigh, at the Appalachian Highland Games in Andrews, NC, and at the Texas Renaissance Festival, Merrily has enjoyed meeting new people while finding an eager audience for her work.
